Free Art Heart

Free Art Heart is a public print project that focuses on the attainability of art to a universal public. Originally, over 200 screenprints were made and distributed in Free Art Boxes around the University of Florida campus as a gesture of hospitality or blind generosity to others/anyone who passed by. A flash-based website was created to document the life of the Free Art Boxes, as well as to offer the image to be downloaded freely to reach a broader audience. (Flash site can be viewed here.) Since then, another run of hearts were printed, and the project has expanded outside of Florida.

My grandmother once told me that I had a big heart to console me when I was upset. The simple phrase has stuck with me since then, but grew into something else; "A big heart, with many rooms to fill."
